These are not witty or DIY or quick fix, but all you really need for most is make up and an all white or all black get up with grey accents.

Ghost / Woman in White
An white nightgown, charity shop bridal gown slashed to ribbons and a piece of gauzy or lace white fabric = ghost.
Vampire
Really dark eyes and red lips…boring, but a cloak does make it marginally more interesting. To make it more original pick a decade or period in which you were ‘turned’ and make it vampire with fangs and blood. Vampire Diaries is useful for its historical flashbacks, but no one can compete with the ultimate vampire duo for inspiration.
Season of the Witch
Black or purple with green and look to the silver screen!
Film
Silence of the lambs (dress all black, bonus points for FBI sweatshirt), the cast of Rocky Horror and, of course, Disney characters.
Finally, for those seeking something classic, beautiful and with multiple age and gender costumes, go beyond the Addams Family. Recreate The Munsters!
