1. 750,000 Flowers in Bloom in Brussels
Dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the migration of Turkish workers to Belgium—in 1964. Today, more than 230,000 Turkish citizens live in Belgium and of those, an estimated 25% live in Brussels, the country’s capital. The carpet is made up of 750,000 flowers and depicts traditional patterns found in Turkish kilims.
Through August 17, those visiting Brussels, Belgium, will be able to see the plaza in front of the city’s iconic Grand Place transformed by a bright carpet of flowers. The transformation takes place every two years, and this year’s carpet, which measures 82 feet across and 250 feet lengthwise, was assembled August 14 by a team of 100 workers.

3. Boy redesigns Waitrose Label to Look Less like Cat Poo
Harry Deverill wrote to British supermarket chain Waitrose with some hefty criticism regarding the images on their in-house brown sauce label.
Dear Mark Price,
I am writing as the other morning I had Waitrose essential Brown Sauce with my bacon sandwiches. I asked Daddy what the picture is of on the label. Daddy didn’t know and neither do I. Please could you let me know. Mummy says I am good at drawing so if you would like me to draw a new picture for the label I would be happy to.

4. Drawing on Style: a Selling Exhibition of Fashion Greats
A new selling exhibition titled: Drawing on Style: Four Decads of Elegance is set to ope at Gray MCA in London from the 11th through the 16th of September. Featuring renderings from fashion icons such as Christian Dior, Sandra Rhodes and Barbara Hulanicki (above). See some of the highlights on the Harper’s Bazaar site here.
5. Michelle Williams Fronts her Third LV Campaign
Not really news, but this image is stunning! Michelle Williams has done it again, fronting her third campaign for French house Louis Vuitton. What a pretty lady.
