One To Follow: Cameron Drake
…this will get under your skin
Californian graphic designer Cameron Drake has taken on an interesting commission. Working with x-rays from Weiss Orthopaedics he’s created a series of .gifs to show joints in motion. His portfolio is varied, and these examples aren’t even scratching the surface. He seems to be a man of many talents, as his Behance profile proclaims:
I have been accused of always speaking in superlatives and will talk for hours on end with little provocation or response. I am a trumpeter, photographer, stand-up comedian, actor, singer, speaker, writer, runner, cyclist, wine and cheese enthusiast and aspiring beat boxer.
This is an interesting perspective on a process that is usually not able to be manipulated in such a way. Drake’s been causing quite a stir on design blogs, as this seems to be the first time anyone has endeavoured to try this process.
He’s also generously logged all of the steps that it took to complete the project on his blog. Using the Adobe suite he walks readers through the challenges he encountered and has included plenty of screenshots. See more of his work here, and check out his step-by-step tutorial here.
