One To Follow: Lauren Hom
…will letter for lunch
Hom Sweet Hom is the illustration and design studio of talented New Yorker Lauren Hom. Her bright palettes and ability to render crisp lines give her a signature style that is very in vogue at the moment. She’s worked with many companies ranging from big hitters Google and Persil to smaller organizations such as Help Ink – an online print store that collaborates with artists around the world to spread some positivity and raise funds for various charities through the sale of prints.
These cards are from a project she did that are based on the question: what would you say to the last person that broke your heart? Some of them are really sweet and endearing. Some of them are searing and hate filled. I am sure we’ve all been in both situations and would have loved to have stationery to aide in the expression of our emotions. See more examples here.

Perhaps her most interesting project to date and the one that drew my attention to her is Will Letter For Lunch. She has the ability to do free hand sign lettering, a once dying art that is making a comeback recently and has used her talents to create an amazing bartering project. Lauren will hand letter a sign or menu for an NYC eating establishment in exchange for a serving of whatever she’s writing about. A genius idea! Read more about this project on Grubstreet here.
