One of the best thing about reading blogs is that they’re full of great advice – you can pick up great tips you didn’t even know you needed! Here is a little roundup of some of the most useful (or rather, insightful) posts I’ve come across recently. Please share your favourites in the comments below.
Cupcakes & Cashmere is one of my go-tos, especially for recipes and home decor advice. Yesterday Emily posted a great interview with Arturo Azinian on how to keep your shoes looking their greatest. She’s still on her A game, even with a brand new baby!
Joanna at A Cup of Jo is another blogger that is full of great advice. Even more so now that she’s hired a great new editor, Caroline. Check out her post on her favourite places to snag affordable art prints. Another one of my favourites (as you probably all know), is American photographer Gray Malin. Sign up to his mailing list for some great discounts.
Naomi, over at Love Taza is one stylish Mama. Even with three kids in tow, she’s always put together. She recently shared a roundup of her favourite lippy, which is a helpful guide to someone who is always unsure of which shade is best (I’m a case in point). A similar post to this is Caroline’s (mentioned above from Cup of Jo) Lipstick Challenge – she tried a new shade every day for a month and documented the experience.
Design*Sponge has curated a list of 10 Homemade Solutions for a Healthier Home which include room spray, a potion to aide sleep and lotion. We’re increasingly becoming more concerned with the chemicals we’re exposed to and ingest, so this is a sure fire way of controlling what goes into ours, and our families bodies.
Check out Food52 for the Five Mother Sauces Every Cook Should Know. These are great to add to your kitchen arsenal, which will ensure you’ll have all the building blocks for most other sauces. The post includes recipes, as well as ideas on how to employ them to make fancier dishes.
Jacquelyn Clark is a design maven. Her blog Lark & Linen is one of those design sites that feels like you’re being led down a rabbit hole. Every post is beautifully curated with the best ideas for home decor, entertaining and recipes. Check out her post on editing photos, she does a great job of going through each step including examples.
This is a post you need to keep in your back pocket: Poppytalk has made a roundup of Ikea hacks that make their flatpack furniture more customised. I really like the idea of mixing Ikea’s minimalist designs with antique pieces and some of these clever workarounds will help to ensure they fit into your decor.
