In London, I’d often slip out of parties without saying goodbye to the host, or most of my friends. I found it awkward and always thought it would put a damper on the evening. As the host, you don’t want the last two hours of your shin-dig to be all goodbyes!
Toronto seems to have a different etiquette though. Maybe I always find myself in more intimate settings here? Maybe it’s the guilt of not kissing every aunt goodbye. Read more thoughts on this topic here.
